Enterprise Level Systems and Order Fulfillment
The top-level system in most facilities is the Enterprise Resource Planning level.
At this level, the business planning modules can interact to balance operational processes with the IT system. Order processing, raw material and general procurement, manufacturing scheduling, warehousing and distribution are all linked to assure the smooth transition between supply and demand in the delivery of products to customers.
Products from PeopleSoft, Oracle, and SAP are usually recognized with a host of others supplying various levels and modules. Many have low-end real time managers for order fulfillment support that are very basic.
